Movie Overview For Shanghai Knights
The dynamic duo of Chon Wang and Roy O'Bannon return for another crazy adventure. This time, they're in London to avenge the murder of Chon's father, but end up on an even bigger case. Chon's sister is there to do the same, but instead unearths a plot to kill the royal family. No one believes her, though, and it's up to Chon and Roy (who has romance on his mind) to prove her right.TagLine Shanghai Knights

Review For Shanghai Knights
It's a merry surfeit, lofted by calisthenic wow above the usual level for late-era Jackie and Wilson's mellow-gold delivery.Ed Park-Village Voice
Like an Abbott & Costello comedy, Shanghai Knights is truly dumb, sometimes inconsistent, but awfully funny.
Richard Roeper-Ebert & Roeper
Knights will surely find an enthusiastic following before it gets to video.
Claudia Puig-USA Today
[A] mundane sequel.
Peter Howell-Toronto Star
Grand, undemanding entertainment.
Glenn Lovell-San Jose Mercury News
A desperately unfunny action comedy, mirthless not only in its effect on an audience but in its whole aura.
Mick LaSalle-San Francisco Chronicle
This innocent, sixties-style, big-budget comedy-romance-action-adventure romp is solid family entertainment that would make any self-respecting kid's jaw drop for a good two hours. [Blu-ray]
Peter Canavese-Groucho Reviews
Martial arts buddy sequel is exactly what you expect.
Nell Minow-Common Sense Media
The Chan/Wilson chemistry that drove the first film and draws people back to this one hasn't lost any of its snap.
Michael Dequina-TheMovieReport.com
The movie seems to have been made simply because these guys should get together again.
Rob Gonsalves-eFilmCritic.com
... The perfect throwaway entertainment for this time of year.
Greg Maki-Star-Democrat (Easton, MD)
Formulaic to the point of distraction and saddled with one of the stupidest musical scores in recent memory.
Bryant Frazer-Bryant Frazer's Deep Focus
Of course Shanghai Knights is fluff, but it's entertaining fluff, and, like the westerns of yore, a nice way to pass a Saturday afternoon.
Josh Bell-Las Vegas Weekly
Divertida continuação de Bater ou Correr, mantém o bom humor e a leveza do original.
Pablo Villaca-Cinema em Cena
...the endless, needless brawling gets old very fast.
John J. Puccio-Movie Metropolis
Instead of penning a funny action film, the screenwriters created a Mad-Lib filled with wink-wink instances where the two main characters run into historical bigwigs.
Nick Rogers-State Journal-Register (Springfield, IL)
Shanghai Knights is the synthesis of the best of both Chan and Wilson's most recent buddy-pic efforts. . .
Steve Dexter-FilmStew.com
The film's strengths are still Jackie Chan's fascinatingly inventive fight sequences: extensions of the knockabout physical comedy of the great silent era.
Urban Cinefile Critics-Urban Cinefile
it's hard to be completely bored during one of [Chan's] fight scenes. But at the same time, much of the magic seems to have faded.
Brian Mckay-eFilmCritic.com
Lo, how the mighty have fallen. Great classic film homages, though.
Karina Montgomery-Cinerina
The problem is that they just aren't as funny as in the first film.
Michael W. Phillips, Jr.-Goatdog's Movies
This time around, Chan and Wilson find their characters in London and all over the turn-of-the-century English countryside... trampling through history and literature, putting a spin on Jack the Ripper and others as well... Fans of the original "Shanghai
Kevin A. Ranson-MovieCrypt.com
If you're looking for uninspired, redundant comedy, cable TV offers plenty of inexpensive alternatives.
Forrest Hartman-Reno Gazette-Journal
I could complain that it's more of the same, but if it's not broke, I don't expect them to fix it.
Mark Dujsik-Mark Reviews Movies
If you're gonna insist on making a distressingly formulaic sequel to a distressingly formulaic comedy, then this might be the way to go, by overstuffing it with so much nonsensical material that some of it is bound to charm through sheer willpower.
Matt Brunson-Creative Loafing
Skip this one if for no other reason than to tell all those bigwigs in Hollywood that you won't stand for them serving you reheated piles of steaming crap. Send the message that they at least have to stir in some salsa or something.
